3 p.m. Update:
Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff,
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Hanover County until 10 p.m. As a result,
all afterschool activities and events, including athletics and field trips, are canceled for the remainder of the day. Building access by school and community organizations is not permitted for the rest of the day.
Please note that the severe weather is not forecasted to impact our area until later in the afternoon, after our middle and high schools dismiss at 3:45 p.m. As a result, we plan to continue with the instructional day and dismissal as normal, and we will continue to closely monitor conditions as a precaution.
The safety of our students, families, and staff is our highest priority. We understand that this is disruptive and we appreciate your understanding, patience, and support. We hope this information is helpful to you so you can begin making the necessary arrangements.
Thank you, and please be safe.

Original Message:
Good afternoon,
Our team is continuing to evaluate the forecast for this afternoon and evening, which is currently calling for the likelihood of severe weather. With many activities and events scheduled for this evening, we wanted to proactively share with you our plan for the remainder of the day to help you better prepare.
At this time, we plan to continue with all afterschool activities as scheduled. However,
it is important to note that if a tornado watch or warning is issued for our county, all afterschool activities and events, including athletics and field trips, would be canceled for the remainder of the day. If this occurs, we will communicate our decision as quickly as possible via the various platforms that are included below. Building access by school and community organizations would not be permitted during this time frame.
As always, please be aware that sports are subject to change by the athletics staff or sports officials, even if afterschool activities are not canceled by the school division.
The safety of our students, families, and staff is our highest priority, and we appreciate your understanding, patience, and support. We hope this information is helpful to you so you can better plan ahead.
