A message from the Superintendent in response to concerns that have been raised regarding the logo that has been used during this week’s Unified Professional Learning Conference.

To help ensure all of our students receive the required immunizations before the start of the school year, as detailed below, we are partnering with the Hanover Health Department to hold two clinics later this month to give students who have yet to receive the required immunizations the opportunity to do so.

At its meeting Tuesday night, the Hanover County School Board received an update on the design of the school from Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates, who is the architectural firm leading these efforts in conjunction with our team. The update includes the finalized renderings of both the inside and outside of the new school as well as the site plan.

Christina Berta, our Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations, has received the Distinguished Eagle Award from The Association of School Business Officials International.

Hanover County Public Schools is participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge at four schools as well as the Patrick Henry Family YMCA.

The 2023-24 school year will begin on Monday, August 21, 2023 and the school year will end on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Christina Berta, who has served as the HCPS Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations since June 2021, was recently recognized as the 2022 VASBO Cardinal Award Winner, the organization’s premier honor given to one of its members each year for exemplifying professionalism, leadership, and innovation in the field of school business management.
