Dear Families,
We hope you are having a great week. We are writing today to share with you exciting news about an expanding opportunity for you to access daily necessities.
As you may have seen
on the news, one of our amazing educators, Emily Monroe, and her family recently launched The Kind Hive in Ashland’s South Taylor Street Park. The box contains everything from food to scarves. We are excited to share with you that
we have added a Community Box outside of Battlefield Park Elementary School and outside of Beaverdam Elementary School. These boxes have been installed and are stocked.
These two boxes – on the baseball field side of the parking lot at BPES and near the track area at BES, respectively – build on the original Kind Hive box, which will remain in South Taylor Street Park, and will be replenished on a regular basis with items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and deodorant.
The Community Box is free for families who need any of the items inside and can be accessed at any time. We are asking that individuals take only what they need in a visit to help ensure that all can be served.
Community members are welcome to leave items and donations they would like to pay forward to other families.
If you have any questions or to donate to support this important initiative, please contact Carrie Cicuto, Coordinator of Federal Programs for HCPS, at
[email protected] or Emily Monroe, The Kind Hive community partner, at
[email protected].
Thank you.
