Dear Families,
We hope you have had a great week. We are writing today with important and exciting news related to internet access in our county.
Late last week, our Hanover County Government partners
announced the “Connect Hanover” initiative to help make broadband internet available to all residents living in our county. The goal of the initiative – a collaboration between the county government, All Points Broadband, Dominion Energy, and Rappahannock Electric Cooperative – is to ensure that unserved residents have access to broadband with minimum speeds of 100 Mbps/100 Mbps. This affects many of the students and families we serve.
As part of this exciting plan,
county residents who want broadband access but do not have it are being asked to complete the Broadband Availability Survey to determine whether or not your residence has been identified as unserved.
More information on the initiative is also available in a
Frequently Asked Questions document that the county has prepared. If you have additional questions, please contact Kevin Nelson, the county’s Director of Information Technology, at
[email protected].
Thank you.
