Hanover BusTo help us plan the most efficient routes possible while not restricting service, please carefully review the below options that apply to your family and follow the steps provided. All transportation service requests must be submitted by Friday, June 10.

My student currently receives transportation service and will need service next year

1) Log in to PowerSchool (review this document for more information on logging in).
2) Visit your student’s PowerSchool page.
3) Click on transportation on your student’s PowerSchool page (bus icon on the bottom left-hand side).
4) If your student has a bus assignment in PowerSchool, they are considered pre-registered for transportation service for the 2022-23 school year and you do not need to do anything further. These students will be provided home-to-school-to-home services based on your current address (if you move over the summer, please update your information with your school and submit a transportation request via this form).

- Families of students who have special education transportation identified in their IEP and require specialized transportation services must still reach out to their school to initiate the process of setting up Special Transportation Services.
- If your student attends a specialty program or specialty school such as ACA, the Health Sciences Specialty Center, or CodeRVA, you must submit a transportation request using this form.

Additionally, please review the below FAQs should you have additional questions.

My student did not ride the bus this year and we do not intend to use transportation services next school year. Do I need to submit a “Decline of Transportation”?

No. If your student did not ride the bus this year (and is not assigned to a bus in PowerSchool) and you do not intend to use services next year, you do not need to submit any other information.

What if my family moves over the summer?

If your student’s address changes over the summer break, you will need to update this information with the school as well as submit a new transportation request for your student.

I am a parent of a student who is new to Hanover County Public Schools. Do I need to register for transportation service?

Yes. All students must be registered with their school prior to receiving transportation services. Please complete this form to request service.

I have shared custody of my child. Can services be set up for an additional bus stop at the other custodial parent’s address?

As long as both addresses are within the attendance boundaries of the school, generally, yes. The school must have both addresses on file in PowerSchool. The parent must submit an Alternate Bus Stop Request via this form.
