Beaverdam Elementary School Renovation

Hanover County Public Schools is proud to invest in a significant renovation to Beaverdam Elementary School. The renovated school is expected to be completed for the 2026-27 school year. 

Timeline To Date

  • May 2018: At a School Board work session, Board members learned through the results of a study requested by the Board that Beaverdam Elementary School is in need of renovation.
  • September 2018: The School Board reaches consensus to prioritize the renovation of BES among other projects identified in the study.
  • May 2023: The Capital Improvement Plan adopted by the School Board includes the renovation of BES.
  • October 2023: HCPS and Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates host input sessions (in-person and virtual) with students, faculty and staff, and the community to garner input on the design of the school.

As part of the process for renovating the school, HCPS and Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates, the Charlottesville-based architectural firm that is overseeing the renovation of the school, are seeking input through a series of meetings with students, faculty, staff, and the broader community.

The community meetings will be held as follows:

  • Monday, October 9 at 6:30 p.m. at BES
