Veterans Honorary High School Diploma
Veterans who were unable to complete their high school education because of service in the armed forces during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War are eligible to receive honorary high school diplomas from the Commonwealth of Virginia.  For information and an application, please call The Georgetown School (804) 723-3465.

Curriculum & Career Fair
Mark you calendar now to attend the annual  HCPS Curriculum and Career Fair on January 6, 2010, from 6pm to 8pm at Hanover High School, 10307 Chamberlayne Road, Mechanicsville.

Annual School Board Tours
Members of the Hanover County School Board were joined by members of the Hanover County Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission and other guests for their annual school tours in November.


 

   

H1N1 Vaccination Clinics

The Chickahominy Health District/Hanover Health Department will offer free H1N1 flu vaccinations for Hanover County Public Schools students in school-based clinics which will be scheduled over the next several weeks. Parents will be notified of the dates/times of the vaccination clinic at their child's school as soon as possible as vaccine becomes available and the schedules for each clinic are confirmed.  If you have questions, please call the Chickahominy Health District/Hanover Health Department at 804-365-4313. <Click here> for other important H1N1 information for parents.  Links to the most current information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), VDH, and VDOE are included.

The Hanover County School Board and the Hanover County Board of Supervisors held a joint workshop meeting on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, to discuss budget challenges facing the county for 2010-2011.

Gold Cards for Senior Citizens
Residents of Hanover County who are 62 years old or older are eligible to apply for a Gold Card (senior citizen pass). Retired employees who are age 55 or older are also eligible. Gold Cards provide free admission to many public school activities on Hanover campuses including sports events and cultural arts programs. For information and an application, you may contact any of our high schools.
