Dear Families,
We are now accepting kindergarten enrollments for the 2026-27 school year! Children must be five years old on or before September 30, 2026 to be eligible. Parents and guardians may locate the school their child will attend via
our school boundary map.
Kindergarten enrollment for the upcoming school year includes three steps:
1) Online Enrollment Form: Please follow the steps outlined on
our Student Enrollment webpage. If you need assistance completing the online enrollment form, our Family Engagement team is ready to support you! Please complete
this form to request assistance.
Families needing enrollment support
in a language other than English, please contact the HCPS Welcome Center at 804-365-4618 or

2) Enrollment Appointment: After completing the Online Enrollment Form, you will receive an email advising you to contact your child’s zoned school to schedule an Enrollment Appointment. The purpose of the scheduled appointment is to provide all necessary documentation required, including, but not limited to, a photo ID, an original birth certificate, and proof of residency. We encourage rising kindergarten parents to schedule their Enrollment Appointment between April 7-17.
3) School Event: Each of our elementary schools will host a Kindergarten Screening and Welcome Event. These events will include students, and more information will be communicated to families and shared on their website.
