We hope you are well. We are writing to share with you information about a division-wide spirit week later this month.
On Thursday, April 23, students from across Hanover County Public Schools will participate in the annual Big Feet Meet at Atlee High School. The event brings specific elementary and middle school students with and without intellectual disabilities together to participate in athletic activities and more.
To demonstrate the unity behind the event, the Big Feet Meet organizers are excited to hold an HCPS-wide spirit week as part of our Big Feet Meet celebration.
Below are the specific days and the associated spirit information:

Monday, April 20: Leave Your Mark Monday. Kindness can go a long way when we pay it forward. We all have the potential to leave our mark on those around us and our HCPS community. Take Monday to write a thank you note, help a custodian after lunch, help a teacher clean their room, or anything that allows you to leave your mark! You make a difference!

Tuesday, April 21: Student Holiday/Teacher & Staff Workday

Wednesday, April 22: We are Hanover Wednesday. To honor our theme as a school division this year and to spread the idea of kindness throughout our school division, be sure to wear your best Hanover blue on Wednesday. Embrace the core values of HCPS of Inspire, Empower, and Lead by continuing to complete kindness tasks throughout the day.

Thursday, April 23: Together Thursday. As we celebrate our athletes attending the Big Feet Meet, schools will host send offs for our athletes, wear
our Art of Inclusion merchandise, and show every student what the idea of belonging feels like. We encourage each school to make signs to celebrate our athletes as they venture off to show their abilities to the world.

Friday, April 24: Fearless Hero Friday. As we conclude our spirit week, it is time to pay homage to our friends and heroes who display kindness throughout their daily lives. Whether it be a loved one, mentor, celebrity, athlete, or even a favorite school employee, dress up like this fearless hero to show your thanks for them for everything they do to spread kindness and change lives.
We encourage all students and staff to join in the fun as we celebrate the Big Feet Meet. We look forward to your participation in this special spirit week! Be sure to follow the Big Feet Meet on Instagram as well.
