Dear Families,
We hope you are well. We are writing to inform you of an important change to the 2025-26 school calendar.
As you may know, a statewide special election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21 in Virginia. Eighteen of our 24 schools serve as voting precincts and significant voter turnout is expected. As a result, this will likely lead to a high volume of visitors on our school campuses and increased vehicular traffic during what would normally be an instructional day.
At its meeting last night, the Hanover County School Board unanimously voted to make Tuesday, April 21 a student holiday in the interest of our students, staff, and broader community. It will be a workday for faculty and staff.
The Big Feet Meet that was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, April 21 is now scheduled for Thursday, April 23. More information will be shared in advance of the event.
Please note that
