Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff,
We hope you are well. We are writing today to update you on the search for the next Superintendent of Schools.
As we shared with you last week, the Hanover County School Board held a special meeting on Tuesday to discuss the nationwide search process for the next Superintendent of Schools with Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA), the third-party vendor that has been contracted to assist the Board throughout the selection process. During the meeting, the Board received the results of the community engagement survey, the resulting desired characteristics, and the overall leadership report for the next Superintendent. All three of these documents are available on BoardDocs (

This information will assist the School Board in the next steps of the process.
Interviews for the position remain scheduled to take place next month ahead of the Board’s anticipated vote on the new Superintendent of Schools in April 2025.
