Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff,
We hope you are well. We are writing today to update you on the search for the next Superintendent of Schools.
As we shared with you on Monday, the Hanover County School Board held a special meeting Wednesday night to discuss the nationwide search process for the next Superintendent of Schools. The meeting was the Board’s first meeting with Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA), the third-party vendor that has been contracted to assist the Board throughout the selection process. During the meeting, which was planning in nature,
the Board reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a transparent search process. This will include an online survey and community input sessions in January. We are committed to keeping you informed throughout this process and will share more information on these input opportunities when it becomes available.
HYA will now begin promoting the position and applications will close in February.
Interviews are scheduled to take place in March ahead of the Board’s anticipated vote on the new Superintendent of Schools in April 2025.
