Nationwide Food Supply Chain Issues and HCPS Meals

I hope you are having a great week. As you have likely already noticed in your local grocery stores and other industries, COVID-19 continues to cause significant supply chain disruptions. This is also impacting school divisions, and we are experiencing the unavailability of various food and supply items. This is resulting in last-minute replacements by our vendors that are beyond our control. In many cases, we do not know which food items will be delivered until the moment they arrive. This is a nationwide issue and one that is not contained to just food availability.

These disruptions greatly impact our school menus, including the wide variety of options we are able to offer our students that we take pride in. We will continue to keep our online menus as up-to-date as possible. However, please understand that food availability is extremely unpredictable, and we cannot guarantee that what is advertised for that day will be served due to last-minute substitutions by our vendors. We will have ample food for students; however, we are unable to guarantee that it will match the online menu. Our schools will be sure to report changes via the morning announcements.

Our entire food services team is doing everything we can to ensure our students continue to be served healthy, filling, and delicious food. As we navigate this issue, we ask for your patience, understanding, and flexibility.
