January 28, 2021 Update:
Dear Families,
Bus routes and schedules for the second semester are now available. With more students returning to face-to-face learning for the second semester,
we encourage all families attending in-person to look for updated information on bus stop locations, stop times, and bus assignments. That updated information is available on the Find My Bus Stop page.
Please note that transportation requests submitted after January 5 by families switching instructional settings may not be processed and scheduled prior to the start of the second semester on Wednesday, February 3. We received a large number of requests for transportation service and must continue to follow
our COVID-19 mitigation strategies.
If you submitted your request after January 5 and do not receive an approval notification by Friday, January 29, please make alternative transportation arrangements for your student(s). Requests for a modification in service may also be delayed.
The Transportation Department will continue to process requests in the order that they were received and will make an attempt to accommodate each request. Due to reduced school bus capacities and other limiting factors, requests could take several weeks to fulfill or could be held until a bus seat becomes available.
As a reminder, students are required to wear face masks while on the school bus. Students must be seated one child per seat (students who live in the same household may share a seat). Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prepare for what is, in many ways, a second reopening of our schools.
Sincerely,
Adrian Frierson
Director of Transportation
September 8, 2020 Update:
Dear Families,
We hope you had a wonderful first day of school!
As we continue with the first week, please be sure to check your bus stop information for any updates to times and/or bus assignments. You can access that information
here.
We ask for your patience as our drivers and our families get adjusted to new routes for the new school year.
Please be reminded that
there will be heavier than normal traffic in our school zones due to an increase in individual student drop-offs and pickups and new traffic patterns at several of our schools. We ask that you
please adhere to your assigned times provided by your student’s school to help limit congestion.
We encourage our broader community to plan ahead and expect delays during these times. Please consider taking an alternate route to avoid these areas if possible.
More information about school traffic can be found
here.
Thank you.
August 31, 2020 Message:
Bus route schedules for the 2020-2021 school year are now available. You can access that information
here. Time and bus assignments are subject to change. We encourage you to check back frequently. Please note, this only applies to families who opted-in by the July 31 deadline and received approval for bus transportation.
If you did not opt-in to transportation by the July 31 deadline, you may still request to be considered.
There is limited capacity remaining on a limited number of routes. Please fill out
this form as soon as possible.
As noted on the form,
transportation requests received after August 25 may take up to two weeks to process. Families should still plan on an alternative form of transportation for at least the first two weeks of the school year. The Transportation Department will contact you with the status of your request as quickly as possible.
As a reminder, students will be required to wear face masks while on the school bus. Students will be seated one child per seat, while students who live in the same household may share a seat.
