Education Expo LogoHanover County Public Schools is excited to announce that we are holding the sixth annual Education Expo completely virtual this year.

The event helps students and parents learn more about the educational opportunities at the high school level and plan for their future. This year’s virtual program will be especially helpful for students currently in grades four through eight.

The Education Expo will be held online using a game format, starting Monday, October 19. Accessible at families' convenience, students will learn more about some of the most exciting and innovative educational programs and pathways that are available to help better plan for the future.

In Expedition Expo, a virtual board game, students will embark on a journey toward graduation. In this game of chance and choice, students are presented with different academic pathways to explore.

Students will start by rolling the die and clicking on the appropriate square. Depending on where they land, they gain or lose points. Regardless of their roll, they must stop at roadblocks, forks in the road, and graduation caps.

Parents will be able to go straight to the information about the specialty programs after watching an introductory video from Dr. Michael Gill, Superintendent of Schools. A PowerPoint provides an overview of the different programs. After deciding which programs parents are interested in, they’ll be able to click on each for more information.

Participants will have the chance to learn more about the following opportunities:

- Advance College Academy
Advanced Placement
CodeRVA
- International Baccalaureate
- Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School
The Hanover Center for Trades and Technology
The Specialty Center at Hanover High School (health sciences focus)
